Polysomnographic Technology

Polysomnographic technologists use sleep technology as part of a team, under the general supervision of a licensed physician, by applying a unique body of knowledge and methodological skills, evaluation, treatment, and follow-up of sleep disorders in patients of all ages. The professional realm of this career includes patient instruction on the use of devices for the treatment of breathing problems during sleep and helping individuals develop sleeping habits that promote good sleep hygiene. If you see yourself helping others improve their quality of life through a good night’s sleep, read on to learn what training OCC has to offer in this important and fast-growing health care career. A major emphasis of the program is to prepare students for the successful achievement of the Registered Polysomnographic Technologist's credential.
