The Associate of Arts degree in English is intended to instill an understanding of our culture and other cultures through literature, to encourage critical thinking about how life functions in the literary, social and moral worlds and to hone students' writing skills in analyzing, evaluating and creating their own fiction and/or non-fiction texts.

Program Outcomes

  1. Students will analyze, evaluate, and create their own fiction and/or non-fiction texts.
  2. Students will critically analyze and compare literature from various cultures demonstrating an understanding of how life functions in the literary, social, and moral worlds.
